2010-The year I got divorced, and yes, it was an ugly one (I know most are) that ended in a battle that didn’t fully finalize until 2018. I died my hair brown, my health went downhill as I worked out hardcore typically seven days a week. Looking back that was probably a form of aggression. The remaining energy was bottled up emotions used entirely on a company I decided to get off the ground instead of doing the internal work.
I stayed 100% busy. The start-up world kept me excited and hopeful, yet I still held all the baggage of a never-ending divorce battle. Go on a date? Ha. I tried don’t get me wrong but felt so much weight on my shoulders every time I went on one. My mind was tricking me into believing that I couldn’t be free in a new relationship until the old one finalized.
I was financially strapped and felt as though all security disappeared. I went to all the fun events and parties, although people wondered if I was really there. Friends said my mind was elsewhere, I wasn’t present, and they were right.
I was feeling trapped, held back, and isolated, even though friends and family regularly surrounded me with love and support. Hanging with others who I had been a part of the relationship with my ex felt disingenuous. I stayed in constant action and work mode, yet everything felt like a defeat.
Nothing was as I had imagined life would be. I felt like a failure even though people kept telling me I was inspiring. I did a deep dive into books. You could often find me wandering the bookstore in the self-help section, seeing what stood out. I wanted to figure out what was wrong with me, my meaning for life, and where my purpose in this world laid.
I moved to a new city for a fresh start, choosing the City of Angels because I felt welcome here. In Los Angeles, most people came to chase their dreams, and I appreciate being in that energy of the city.
Instead of spending money on gym memberships and clothes like before, I chose to use the outdoors as my gym and use my funds towards self-development. I had multiple coaches and attended many self-improvement workshops.
I found that being in action with accountability and encouragement of others holding my vision as well, was more significant than absorbing books and listening to podcasts.
The experience of transformational coaching is what landed for me the most. All the messages from the self-help books finally made sense and were cemented in my core. Life’s challenges became less complicated and easier to deal with.
One of the biggest things I learned through all of this is forgiveness. Forgiveness is needed to practice with all those who have violated our trust. After forgiving others, something was still off, though, and I finally figured it out. I also needed to show forgiveness to myself for believing I was a failure for any negative self-thoughts. Trust me; exercising forgiveness seems endless.
So here I am, a decade later, a new city and state, coaching, writing my own self-help transformational books, speaking at companies, USC, working with cancer patients, actors, directors, and CEOs. I mean, who would’ve ever thought? Funny, I did have a psychic tell me once that I grounded people and celebrities needed me. I hadn’t even considered moving to LA at that point. What I do know is that when I’m empowering others to find personal freedom and understand their truths through coaching and speaking, I am twinkling from head to toe.
My truth is that the last thing I want you to feel is stuck. Trapped by others, confined by your mental blocks, or caught by the invisible glass ceiling. I’m here to take a stand for you to know who you are, believe in your greatness, and unleash all that is you in 2020.
Using my intuition and your body intelligence, we can co-create the dreams of your life in the upcoming year, remove the bocks, and unleash the power within. You also deserve to twinkle from head to toe.
I am wishing you a ton of growth and blessings!
